Sunday at the double D

Today is a really exciting day at We have some really nice fields in the Route version of the Super Star Series. With only a few weeks left to qualify for the BIG guaranteed final of 500,000 credits. Yes folks this is no typo, each division is going to have a final of 500k! The question is who is going to be the 12 horses to run for the biggest purse money in digitaldowns history. The points battle is getting pretty thick. In the sprints where fields have been lighter there is a chance for some players to start making their move to qualifying for the final. 6f, is a nice distance for any horse who has some ability. With a few weeks left, players have the opportunity to put up multiple entries to get a few into the big race for 500k. The routes have been a different story as the fields have been pretty big most weeks. I am in hopes this will be a tradition here at Digitaldowns for many many seasons to come. Where as things may need to be tweeked a bit, the concept is fun and exciting. The new race engine has been running flawless here for a few weeks now as some minor changes were made to make the races run more smooth, and I am personally very impressed. It has made for some very good racing. Speaking of good racing, lets break down todays action!

Race #5 2 yo colts 1 1/8th mile dirt belmont

1) Dadwasabadman: After starting off the season on fire, Ryan’s colt has tapered off a bit, but still running very competive. A good trip on the rail from Garcia here could mean a trip to Winner’s Circle. 5/1

2)Hit the Bong:This horse had some amazing preseason works, and has the potential to be great, but only one win so far leaves us wondering if it was just hype. He has shown signs of life, but will need to improve to win today. 5/1

3)Union Ragz: Florida Farms shows his strength of good horses here with yet another talented colt. This horse likes to come from alittle off the pace, but might be better suited staying a bit closer. Rose should help keep this horse within striking distance. 10/1

4)Troll Cody: This is the horse to beat here today. When is close to the lead, it spells trouble for the rest of the field. Ideally an early move will be needed to set this horse up to do what it does best. 8/5

5)Lump of Colt:Florida has been trying different things with this guy. He went to the front last time out and fared well, but faded to 3rd. Maybe another early move could land him with better results. Go early and try and trap the Troll?? 9/1

6)Mo Closes:Fresh off the 75k claim, Mo Closes has been gelded and looks to add to his points. 5 times to winner circle, and has to be considered to be a contender. 4/1

7)Reach Out: Simply put, he is going to need to improve. Oneto will have to do better then last time out. 15/1

My picks:4/6/1

race#6 2 yo filles 1 1/8th dirt belmont

1)Killer(tx):Lightly raced dangerous horse from Woodville here. Shows she has some close to her at 7f. Curious to see what the rail and some added distance will do for this horse. 10/1

2)Lump it up: Cant seem to find a regular jockey for this nice filly. Very impressed with her 9 horse field win at a mile three races back. She stalked the pace after settling in nicely and took over late for the SSS win. Contender. 5/1

3)Bagya Bagya: 2 for 3 early on. The only loss came at this level but was charging hard. Middle pack with late foot for this one, and has to be considered with a chance to do that here. 6/1

4)Grey Lass: Took down the SSS last week impressively from the rail. Garcia gets another go here and has to be considered the favorite: 5/2

5)Street Serve: No stranger to winners circle. Nice Open prep last time out and although she hasnt seen SSS winners cicle in her last few tries, she has done it before and will look to stalk and do it again today. 3/1

6)Russ Rulz: Well bred longshot here, has some talent but might be outclassed. Just looking for as many points as possible. 20/1

7)My Lady Belle: Racing Downs has to like his filly here. She has shown to be quite competitive. She charged hard and almost won the Garden Classic and has raced solid since. I dont think she will win but could figure in the tri. 7/1

8) Chain Letter: Feast or Famine . This one hasnt been the circle in a bit, but it might be time to get back into form. She hasnt fallen off too much, but enough to make a difference. She needs a good trip. 5/1

My picks 4/5/2

Race#27 2 year old colts 1 1/8th mile dirt Belmont

1)Le Nez: This horse has what it takes to be a chamion. Always moving forward and has lots of heart. 5 for 8 so far and looking to add to that here tonight. Favorite. 5/2

2)Maxed Out Explorer: This horse has been running really well. Does her best work close to the front and Garcia might have an opportunity to beat Le Nez to the lead. 7/2

3)Tripleshot Thursday: Winner of the Garden Classic might be well placed here in the route. I think a good move from Woodville as this horse could qualify for both if his cards are played right. 5/1

4)Brow Down: Bullseye brings a 9 race maiden to the race tonight. You might think thats not a great play, but this horse is solid as can be. Just needs to get his wheels turning faster sooner and could play spoiler. He can run, and will be a good horse once he settles in and breaks the cherry. 12/1

5)Kurt: 9 for 10 in the quinella for this one. Picked this horse up cheap for 5 bucks and already has a 2nd place in the SSS. Trunoble has him a nice middle pack runner with some guts. Perfect for SSS. 7/1

6)Dont Believe The Sky:Castro will get him a promising mount here. This horse won the last time he was on SSS route dirt, and will hope to shake off that turf performance last time out. 4/1

7)Pop the Clutch. looking for points here. Form has been all over the place, but has shown he can be competitive. Breaking his maiden will be a longshot here, but stranger things have and will happen. 15/1

My picks 1/2/6

race#28 2 year old fillies 1 1/8th mile dirt Belmont

1)3 Lil Pigs: Woody is going to have to ask Oneto to keep this horse settled if she wants to compete at the route course. She has the speed, but does she have the patience and endurance???10/1

2)Nose for Scotch:Has looked well in the sprints, but has something to prove here. Talamo will need to either let her rip and see what happens or keep tight on the reigns. Probably the second choice if he wants to win. 8/1

3)Halo Rock: 3 for 3, and could make it 4. This horse seems like the real deal. Classic stalker with guts. Smith is salivating to get back on board. 3/1

4)Cool Jamming: This horse has some nice close to her. I think Florida found a nice combo and Garcia will give Halo a run. 7/2

5)Zen Yada Yada Yada: Krone will likely try and come from alittle off the pace here. She is solid and can win it with a masterful ride. Tough field here, as they all can run. 8/1

6)First Gear: Woody after the big purchace tries to get her qualified in both. Could have an outside chance of making a run at history. 3/1

7)Sunday Special: Another fine horse, as this is one of the most even fields I have ever seen. Outside chance at winners circle, but should be competitive. 12/1

My picks 3/6/4
