Season 31 Digital Downs Classic Championship 4yo Up C/F Race Preview the world’s best virtual horse racing game on the internet proudly presents the 4 YO+ C/F Champ Classic Finals!

The big money sprint finals are finally here! We have a 12 pack of older Colts/Fillies set to battle for 8F for the ultimate prize. The winner will get the lion’s share of 425Kc. It was a long journey for these older colts and fillies to get the necessary points to make it into the big money finals. Amazing job by the connections to get to this point. Let’s take a closer look at some of the contenders.

The multiple graded stakes winning millionaire blitzed the older division early winning 12 times and banking just over 500Kc this season. A strong choice for HOY honors has fallen on tough times of late having been off the board in her last 5 tries. However, she did hold gamely for 4th last out in the Sprint Champ Final after setting a blistering pace early. It was an encouraging sign as it seemed her early speed had been lost. Tonight, a return to the turf course in which she won her last over the surface may be just enough to wake the sleeping giant. She’ll need some racing luck from the far outside tonight, but she’s put together big trips from a similar position before. My top choice.

Benefited last out from a pace meltdown in the Sprint Champ Finals uncoiling a powerful late rally to just get up in time. He earned a 100 speed figure in that race and just missed the track record. A nice story for his connections he’s already banked nearly 850Kc in his career. He’s yet to put it together over the turf, but his ability to fire his best on the biggest stage can’t be ignored. My 2nd choice.

This 6 YO race warrior has banked 923Kc in his career and has many big wins to his credit. He may be getting a little long in the tooth of late, but he did produce a strong rally 2 back to win against a quality field at the same distance and turf course he gets tonight. I always liked how he ran over the turf course. His career record seems to indicate he prefers this surface as he has nearly half the dirt wins in under half the runs. With 26 shows in his career I’m using him underneath hoping he can finish his career on a high note.

Dark horse pick:

It’s hard to imagine this horse was a 2Kc claim last season for his connections.  Eric of Buddha Farms brilliantly managed this horse into a Leg 1 Triple Crown triumph and also captured the Champ Classic Conso that year. Much of Eric’s mastery was due in part to a return to the turf course in which this filly broke her maiden. Although, her big money has come over the dirt, she’s much better over the turf and has been quite handy against classic runners over that going. She’s failed to hit the board this season, but has only been out 6 times all over the dirt. We may be in store for a big surprise over the turf.

Picks: 11, 8, 9
