Happy St. Patrick’s Day

Happy St. Patrick’s Day everyone. Hope everyone is wearing green today. Wouldn’t want you to get pinched. So let’s take a look back here over the past few weeks. Digitaldowns has always been a wonderful community with a tight nit group of regular players over the years. Recently we have had a nice influx of players, and to be honest they have turned out to be such an amazing presence here at digitaldowns. Many of the guys regularly show up to chat for the races, and the chat is pretty lively. They do breeding contests, and talk racing. It is a refreshing addition to the site, and the racing is better then ever. Speaking of racing, the SSS pools are getting insane. The sprints are well over 600k and the routes are almost at 500k. I would love to see this series eclipse the 1 million mark, and as it may not happen this season, I forsee it in the very near future. The addition of new tracks should really make this series even more fun. The end of the season stakes day is going to be insane, with many races for super large purses. The card is being worked on right now to make it more open to a variety of horses. The high roller stakes is going to be top notch, with the best middle distance 3 and ups racing for big credits and piece of DD history. Who will be the first winners? The stakes card is more exciting now as well, with stakes for sprinters and routers every weekend. The racing has been super exciting and we look for the new season(which is quickly approaching) to be the biggest and best ever! Speaking of new season, wow have I seen some fast yearlings so far! The eliminator should be of epic proportions. I would love to see over 100 entries this season. Well lets get down to today’s races. Wow, what a nice group of SSS and stakes races we have.

Fillies SSS 1 1/4 Bel Dirt

I personally love Genuine Racing’s Crowning Glory here who has won 3 in a row including a nice run winning the 1 1/8th SSS last week. She seems to get stronger with distance and should be able to settle into a nice stalking role here.Notyohalo should get a nice trip on the rail here and will be in contention. She will look to stay close to the lead and keep herself from being boxed in. Two Hand Touch should also be there at the end, as she has shown she can win on the lead or closing from behind. I would think with the speed in this field, let them blaze the fractions and close for a shot at victory circle.

My picks 1-6-3-2

Colts SSS 1 1/4 Bel Dirt

Troll Can Boogey is the one to beat here winning 5 out of its last 8. We do get a jockey change off of Rojas for whatever reason here. I understand Curatolo has been running brilliant, but he is 0-2 with this horse in the SSS and Rojas and this horse have some magic together. I think this could be the mistake that hurts this horse in the race. So who will beat TCB here? His half brother Halo’s Troll could do it, but has been off form a bit. Bad Rain could certainly make some noise on the rail. He had 2 great runs since the claim for 10k. Ryan lost him a nice horse here. The gelding should try and keep close and a perfect trip could spell upset. Ryan shouldnt worry to much though because he has a nice horse withMack. This colt has cycled up well and shown he has some really nice closing ability. Very versatile, and could make some noise here tonight. Nice to see Sharkano stepping it up with this dark horse here. Nice opening maiden win, but can he run with the big boys?

My picks 1-6-9-8

The Goldie Distaff 1 1/4 3up fillies

How can you go against Pharms Dank Soylz after what she did last week? She should be very tough here tonight, but if history repeats itself in what she did from this exact track and post in the Lexington Plate..It could be a rough day for her. Bet on Addy should get a nice trip, she had the lead but couldnt hold em off last time out and was run down by PDS. Shorten it up here and back to the dirt could mean success for the midpack closer. Carpet Muncher could come back to life here. She has been running solid, but has been kept out of the winner’s circle as of late. She has a couple near misses, and a good run could change all that real quick. I like her in an upset.

My picks 2-1-6-7

The Kurt Stakes 3up Colts 1 1/4 Bel Dirt

The one to catch here is FoggyDan’s Herbal Flirtations. He is very lethal at this distance, and with the small field here, there is a little room for error. I think if he runs an average race he should win it. Out There provides an interesting story. The 5 year old is a super deep closer, and in a race where he might have room to close, could provide a nice upset for the punter who wants to gamble. Trunoble’s dual entries here could offer some noise, but I think they are running for 2nd. Would take a perfect race for either to win it.

My picks 5-6-1-3

So there you have it. Should be a great day of racing, and I look forward to watching. Make sure you guys get your entries in for the High Roller Qualifiers next Wednesday. We need atleast 8 entries to make this a go. 1 person will win a ticket to the final on the end of the season stakes day. Make sure you guys check out twitter and facebook on a daily basis atleast 1 hour before the races. I will doing contests, and usually offer my claim of the day. Also make sure you participate in this years auction. It will be April 1, and there is already some nice horses up for auction! Good luck today, race hard and get to the wire first!
