Digital Downs 2 Year Old Classic Championship Final Fillies

The filly’s classic looks just as impossible to predict as the colts. Nothing with outstanding form makes it wide open today, with small margins most likely making the difference for many here. I feel the conditions will be optimum for those that will make the money. Just 3 confirmed dirt horses makes it interesting.

Last seasons winner: The Witcher BmS from Beastmode Stables
Warmed up with a win over course and distance in a qualifier. Running a conservative 10 races, winning 5, 4 of them qualifiers, his only run outside quallies was his first maiden race. Ended with impressive stats of 5 win in 10 races, earning $750k. Not seen this season as his Trainer has been seen sunning it in Barbados for the last 4 months, living off his earnings! 😊

Can I Stay With You from Pancho Racing Stablessachin
Last Race: Cal 1/38 Dirt Fast– DDRQ 4th

Has run consistently on both turf and dirt this season, including staying races, so stamina wont be an issue, but speed might be a negative here. 24 races already this season, she has been fully exposed recently, posting some far from ideal races. Although she finished top of the points, I feel her speed ratings and form place her at a slightly lower level than required here.

Dazzling Nashua from Bobby Dazzlersachin
Last Race: Cal 1 1/8 Turf Firm – DDCQ 6th

Another that has run equally on both surfaces. Winning 3 races from 18 races, including 14 qualifiers, winning 1 of those.Dazzling Nashua also looks out of her depth in this despite finishing high in the points, more a case of quantity rather than quality. Never closer than 6th over distance and going, its hard to see her making inroads into some of the others

Abate from Chrismansachin
Last Race: Cal 5f Turf Yield – DDSQ 5th

Wow, Stu hasn’t messed about running her conservatively. A massive 32 runs at 2 years of age! She has run a massive 17 times in quallies, and hard to see what form she is in over 1 1/8 dirt, as her runs have been over many different distances and goings. Shows her versatility but being versatile sometimes also means not quite a master of any consistent distance and going. Abate will most likely come from off the pace and hope others are slacking at the business end, but on current posted form she has a lot to do also.

Cocoa Crisp from Sweet Stablessachin
Last Race: Bel 1 1/8 Dirt Mud – DDCQ 6th

Listed as a turf horse, Cocoa crisp has shown better footing on dirt. Eased into the qualifiers, she has won 3 quallies from 14 runs, over sprint, classic and staying. Only run once on dirt over the distance so entering new territory for her and expect her to struggle here.

Narcissistic from Northlandsachin
Last Race: Bel 1 1/8 Turf Firm – DDCQ 4th

The first of my tips for this race and a proper dirt animal from Northland. Being by Holy Bull, she is very capable at this distance, highlighted by 2 wins over 1 1/8 from 9 runs. Lightly raced, I like the patience shown by the trainer and both hope for a top run. Her runs on dirt fast have been top draw and only when trying softer ground does she show some frailty. Would be a great achievement to win this after such a light campaign.

Dazzling Legend from Bobby Dazzlersachin
Last Race: Bel 1 1/8 Dirt Mud – DDCQ 8th

16 qualifying races has kept her busy, winning the once. Yet to win on her preferred dirt, and that has to be a concern, but Dazzler will have her primed and hope for a good run from her. Not won for 6 weeks and 12 races is also worrying when you need them in form for the big day. Could lead the field and stretch their stamina, for which most will be on their unpreferred surface.

Quiet Killa from Chrismansachin
Last Race: Bel 1 1/8 Turf Firm– DDCQ 3rd

Another definite turf specialist, who has no form at all on dirt and that is worrying straight away. Been earning her keep with 23 races this season, winning 2 quallies and an also the prestigious G1 Breeders cup race, which, incidentally, came the day after running in a G2 and finishing 2nd!! Hard to know what she can do on a fast surface so she is one to just keep an eye on here.

Samurai Girl from Chrismansachin
Last Race: Bel 1 1/8 Dirt Mud – DDCQ

A $10k claim early in her career, she is another highly tried filly with 28 races, it will be interesting to see if it’s the highly raced or patient racing that comes to fruition. Cannot see any form that gives this one a chance, but she qualified and has as much a chance as others. 8 runs on dirt with one place confirms my fears here.

Honey Roasted from Sweet Stablessachin
Last Race: Bel 7f Turf Firm – fOpenAlwDD 4th

Probably brings the best form into this race, and already won a qualifier over trip and going. Ultra-consistent this season with a genuinely nice average rate of 97. Great bloodlines and with the lack of pace will challenge early for the lead. Noted as a potential winner

Griselda Blanco from Nemesissachin
Last Race: Bel 1 1/8 Dirt Mud – DDCQ 6th

The final filly shows you don’t need 20 qualifying races to get into the final. Just 6 runs, winning once, her trainer, the southern git, has held her back and got the most from every race. Great form on dirt, including a nice win at SAover trip, she is on the short, shortlist, IF she doesn’t get an outside draw.
